YouTube Ready to Land on Switch 2? Nintendo Moves Fast to Bring Videos to Its New Console!

Many fans are asking for it and Nintendo has made it a priority, which is why YouTube will not be long in coming on Switch 2. Nintendo is already working with YouTube, so the app should be coming to the console “soon.”

The Nintendo Switch 2 has only just hit the shelves, but the gaming community is already exploring everything the new console from Kyoto has to offer. Some users have already tried to watch YouTube videos on the hybrid device, only to find the app is not yet available. This missing feature, however, is about to be fixed, as both companies are already working on a solution.

Currently, it’s not possible to download YouTube on Nintendo Switch 2; even those who transferred the app from their original Switch can’t run it on the new console. This issue has made the rounds on social media, with users on Reddit and elsewhere highlighting that the video app just doesn’t work on Nintendo’s new system for now.

But YouTube won’t be missing for long. As the platform’s official X account confirmed, both companies have already started work to enable the app for users. In a short message, the team stated: “We are working with Nintendo to make YouTube available on Switch 2 soon.” There’s no official arrival date yet, but it’s clear the wait won’t be long.

It’s worth remembering that the original Nintendo Switch also launched without a YouTube app. Back then, it took Nintendo more than a year and a half to bring the program to the console—it finally arrived on November 8, 2018. Fortunately, that slow rollout won’t be repeated this time, so Switch 2 owners should be watching endless videos in just a matter of days or weeks.

Joy-Con Drift Returns on Nintendo Switch 2

Beyond YouTube, it’s important to note that Nintendo Switch 2 players are running into a familiar issue: Joy-Con drift. Nintendo is aware of the problem and has already launched a system for free controller replacements, but a device repair company has warned that the risk of drift remains high. According to Nintendo, the company ruled out using Hall Effect technology, which almost completely eliminates drift, because it could interfere with the controllers’ magnetic coupling system.
