Persona 6 in the Air? Atlus Drops a Cryptic Hint While Unveiling Persona 4 Revival—Fans Already Speculate About the Future!

No one has said anything about Persona 6, but fans of the RPG saga are already going crazy over a message that talks about the “future” of the brand. Atlus has just unveiled Persona 4 Revival, but it’s also thinking about the steps it will take in the coming years.

After months of rumors, it’s now official: players will return to the Persona universe with a full remake of the acclaimed Persona 4. Announced during the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, the news has electrified RPG fans worldwide. Still, the lack of any mention of the long-hoped-for Persona 6 leaves many a bit uneasy. That’s why the community erupted after a key Atlus figure posted an enigmatic message about the “future” of the beloved Japanese saga.

It’s now been eight years since the release of Persona 5 (the original edition, without Royal), and since then, Atlus has poured energy into spinoffs, remakes like Persona 3 Reload and the freshly announced Persona 4 Revival, and supported new classics such as 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim and Metaphor: ReFantazio. But concrete news about the series’ next mainline RPG has remained elusive—so fans cheered when Kazuhisa Wada, director of P-Studio (an Atlus subsidiary), made even the briefest reference to the brand’s future in a recent X post.

Persona 4 has spawned numerous spin-off projects, including TV anime, Persona 4 Arena, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, and Persona 4: Dancing All Night, and is a special title that has been a part of Atlus for many years and holds a personal place in my heart. We are currently working on this project with all our passion and love,” Wada wrote. “Furthermore, we are actively preparing as a studio for the future development of the Persona series. We are working hard to live up to the expectations of fans around the world, and our work is progressing well. Please stay tuned for further updates.”

Of course, there’s been no official word on Persona 6, but players are already connecting the dots and linking Atlus and P-Studio’s “future” plans with development of the next big-numbered RPG. “You mean future developments? Am I hearing a number 6 somewhere?” joked user Mason Dvorak on X. “Does this mean we’re getting a Persona 6?” added adsate. No wonder the community is thrilled to hear that both companies remain hard at work on the iconic RPG franchise.

Persona 4 Revival Is Official

As mentioned earlier, the Xbox event finally confirmed the much-rumored Persona 4 remake. The reveal trailer showed off a handful of enhanced scenes from the town of Inaba and confirmed the new version is being developed for Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC, with a release on Game Pass. Still, there’s no official launch date for players to mark on their calendars just yet.
