Q-Games has announced the release date for its third-person exploration action game, but with a special bundle deal, you can dive in even earlier.
Dreams of Another is a third-person exploration action game centered on the philosophical idea: No Creation Without Destruction. Unlike traditional third-person shooters where shooting destroys objects, here shooting actually materializes and creates an otherwise abstract and fragmented world. The game’s highlight is its use of point cloud rendering, where environments are visualized as floating particle collections. On PlayStation VR2, this technique truly shines, wrapping players in a dreamlike world that feels as if your body dissolves into the scenery. The effect is mysterious and deeply immersive—like a true voyage through a dream. VR allows players to feel as if they physically inhabit these worlds built from nothing but particles.
The core of Dreams of Another is a surreal journey led by two characters: the Man in Pajamas and the Wandering Soldier. But the dreamworld is filled with more than people—trees sway in the wind, lonely doors beckon, soft-glowing street lamps and all sorts of objects come to life with humorous conversations, casting quirky light on questions of human society. With VR, these characters feel like they’re right in front of you, drawing you in even deeper. The PlayStation VR2 version lets players switch between the traditional third-person perspective from the PS5 version and a VR-only first-person mode. The third-person view highlights the story and lets you observe the action as your character, while first-person provides maximum immersion, placing the point cloud world directly before your eyes to explore every detail up close.
Dreams of Another launches October 10 on PlayStation 5 (with PlayStation VR2 support) and PC. Buy it bundled with PixelJunk Eden 2 and you’ll be able to play both games as early as October 7.
