Cronos: The New Dawn – A Bleak, Synth-Horror Apocalypse Awaits [VIDEO]

Bloober Team’s upcoming title already sets a chilling tone: the new gameplay footage of Cronos: The New Dawn offers a haunting first look at its grim atmosphere and surreal visuals.

*Cronos: The New Dawn* unfolds across two timelines: a desolate post-apocalyptic future and 1980s *Poland*. Players will explore a devastated district known as *New Dawn*, inspired by the real-life *Nowa Huta*. You take on the role of a *Traveler*, an agent of the mysterious *Collective*, sent back through time to rescue key individuals before they are lost in the apocalypse.

As we delve into this world on the edge of destruction, we encounter grotesque enemies known as *Orphans*—terrifying monsters that embody humanity’s darkest nightmares. *Intense survival moments showcase these horrifying beings up close and personal.*

The Orphans and the Threat of Fusion

The *Orphans* are exceptionally aggressive and merciless, making every encounter a desperate battle to survive. The core mechanic: prevent their *fusion*. Enemies must be burned immediately upon defeat—otherwise, others may absorb them, triggering a terrifying transformation into faster, stronger monstrosities. The environments, inspired by *Nowa Huta’s* brutalist architecture, are distorted by anomalous phenomena, twisting the world into surreal terror.

Soundscapes of Fear: Music and Mood

The soundtrack heightens the tension. *Award-winning composer Arkadiusz Reikowski* collaborated with the Polish-Ukrainian indie folk band *Zazula* to create an eerie, evocative piece. Their track blends haunting traditional vocals with synth-horror and avant-garde textures. *The result is a chilling and immersive composition, perfectly mirroring the world you must explore.*

*Cronos: The New Dawn* is set to release this fall on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. As expected, the only confirmed physical edition will be on PlayStation 5, distributed by *Skybound Games*.

She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
