Hell Is Us: Dungeon Crawling in Rogue Factor’s Game [VIDEO]

Rogue Factor and Nacon have released a new gameplay video showcasing the investigative mechanics of Hell Is Us. The core design philosophy remains unchanged—the game refuses to hold players’ hands.

Set in the fictional war-torn country of Hadea, Hell Is Us throws players into a nation riddled with mystery and civil conflict. Hadea hides a haunted past and is filled with ancient, forgotten dungeons that must be explored to progress the story and uncover the truth behind the strange phenomena occurring throughout the region. These dungeons aren’t side content—they are essential to the journey, revealing deeper lore and offering challenging gameplay experiences.

Each dungeon offers its own unique atmosphere, puzzles, and purpose. Players will need to rely on different skills: close environmental observation, logical thinking, meaningful interactions, and of course, combat against formidable foes. Every dungeon ends in a high-stakes boss confrontation that unveils secrets about this strange, isolated land’s troubled history.

“The dungeons follow the same philosophy that drives the entire game—what we call ‘player-plattering.’ Our goal is to let players rediscover the thrill of self-guided exploration, without hand-holding. Within the depths of each mysterious dungeon, players must read their surroundings and figure out how to overcome the obstacles. Every dungeon has its own vibe and unforgettable moments that deliver a real sense of achievement once conquered,” said Creative and Art Director Jonathan Jacques-Belletete in the official press release.

Hell Is Us is slated for release on September 4 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. The newly released seven-minute video may help players decide whether Jacques-Belletete’s vision offers something bold—or just another forgettable entry.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
