Total Chaos Will Shred Your Nerves And You Can Play It Right Now [VIDEO]

Get ready, because this one really is not for the faint of heart – and you can jump in immediately. Out of nowhere, the grotesque horror game Total Chaos has arrived, with Trigger Happy Interactive and Apogee Entertainment pulling off a surprise shadow drop on PC, Xbox Series, Xbox Game Pass, and PS5.

Sinister environments, utterly grotesque monsters, a kind of terror that pins you to your chair… if that sounds like your idea of a good time, it is worth checking out the trailer for Total Chaos straight away. Trigger Happy Interactive and Apogee are not just trying to make you jump; they have also brought in Akira Yamaoka, the legendary composer behind Silent Hill, to make sure the soundtrack and sound design crank the tension even higher. Best of all, this was one of the Xbox Partner Preview’s surprise shadow drops, which means the game is already available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox Game Pass, and PS5.

From DOOM 2 Mod To Full-Blown Survival Horror

Total Chaos has an unusual origin story. What is now a full-scale survival horror game actually began life as a DOOM 2 mod, before steadily mutating into its current, nerve-shredding form. As a result, you can expect suffocating, oppressive locations, indescribable creatures that have to be put down with firearms, and an enigmatic journey built to keep players – or at least those who manage to stay alive – glued to the screen right up until the credits.

The trailer’s description on YouTube presents Total Chaos as “a descent into the deepest horrors”, an experience that mixes unsettling exploration, deliberate, weighty melee encounters, severely limited resources, and grotesque enemies in a hallucinatory trip through a forgotten mining colony called Fort Oasis. As your sanity slowly frays at the edges, your only real option is to fight, scavenge, and drag the island’s deadly secrets into the light before they swallow you whole.

Crucially, Trigger Happy Interactive is not trying to deliver a one-way walking simulator. Instead, you are constantly pushed to craft improvised weapons and face down the abominations that stalk your path. True to classic survival horror, this loop is tied together with careful resource management and environmental storytelling. “Scavenge for scrap and jury rig makeshift weapons to defend yourself against the horrors that lurk on the island,” the team explains. “Uncover fragments of the forgotten lives scattered across Fort Oasis and piece together the chilling mystery of its fate. Each discovery brings you closer to a truth that threatens to drive you insane.”

The only real question is whether you can hold your nerve long enough to see that truth for yourself. If you think you are up to it, you can dive into the nightmare of Total Chaos right now on PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox Game Pas,s and PS5.
