Insider Dusk Golem says Resident Evil 10 has been in development for years, though a release is still several years away.
Resident Evil Requiem has become the fastest-selling entry in the series, and Capcom appears to already be looking ahead. According to reliable insider Dusk Golem, Resident Evil 10 is currently in development — and the project reportedly began over six years ago. The game has also been rebooted once during that time, which is not unusual for the franchise: Requiem itself went through a similar overhaul at an earlier stage of its development.
Dusk Golem describes Capcom‘s strategy as working on four to seven Resident Evil projects simultaneously, keeping a consistent pipeline of new content flowing for fans. Despite this, Resident Evil 10 remains a distant release — the insider is clear that the title is still several years away. The next major entries expected in the near term are remakes of Resident Evil Code Veronica and Resident Evil Zero, both anticipated to arrive sooner. Separately, Dusk Golem has also reported that Capcom is in the early stages of developing a remake of the original Resident Evil as well.
All told, the Japanese developer appears to be actively pushing the franchise forward on multiple fronts simultaneously, with the clear intention of keeping fans supplied with new releases for years to come.
