MOVIE NEWS – Dennis Quaid appears to be a quiet horticulturalist in the 97-minute action thriller The Florist, but at night he works as a ruthless assassin. The new trailer forces him to use his entire lethal skill set to protect a young witness.

Since Taken became a hit, a growing line of veteran stars have played seemingly ordinary men with very particular abilities. After Liam Neeson, Denzel Washington, Jeff Bridges and Bob Odenkirk, the 72-year-old Quaid now joins that tradition.

A gentle florist with a deadly secret

Carl Rikker is an introverted, kind florist who genuinely loves his day job. At night, however, he and his partner Charlie moonlight as professional killers. When one assignment exposes police corruption, their identities are threatened and they must decide whether to protect the young witness caught in the crossfire.

Quaid is no stranger to action after roles in The Day After Tomorrow, Vantage Point, the G.I. Joe franchise and Netflix’s War Machine. The Florist places him squarely inside the “quiet man with hidden skills” formula, complete with gun choreography that recalls John Wick.

Jean Reno joins the firefight

The other major attraction is Jean Reno, star of Léon: The Professional, who plays Charlie. The film is directed by London Has Fallen filmmaker Babak Najafi, from a screenplay credited to Eran Creevy, Scott Windhauser and Ethan Suess.

Sky Katz, Anna Schafer, Leonidas Gulaptis and Dylan Flashner round out the cast. Saban Films will release The Florist digitally in the United States on October 9, 2026.
