The latest update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is out, but you probably didn’t even notice it…
This week, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 received an update that made some changes that only eagle-eyed superhero fans might notice.
It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost a year since Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was released on PlayStation 5. A direct sequel to Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the game sees Peter Parker and Miles Morales team up to take on some familiar foes.
Now, the latest update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has brought some minor changes to the web-weaving adventure.
Some keen-eyed fans have already spotted them. According to Insomniac’s website, Peter Parker’s suit in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has been slightly modified, changing the soles from red to black. With this, they try to represent the clothes in the film better.
Insomniac thanked the community for suggesting this change and also revealed that the update also addressed issues with other outfits in the game, such as the “Spider-Man’s Last Stand” and “Webbed” versions, which had some clipping they had a problem.
The update also includes minor stability and bug fixes and fixes a commonly reported crash. That’s about all there is to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 latest patch notes, though. As for the sequel, fans of the sequel hope that DLC content will be added to the game soon.
MCU Spider-Man Series Title Changed?
Marvel has quietly changed the title of the MCU Spider-Man spin-off series.
Even though fans are divided over a Spider-Man 4, there is still a lot of excitement surrounding the series’ various possible futures. We say various because let’s be honest: the multiverse is always going to be a factor, like it or not.
In fact, the alternate timelines are one of the reasons why Marvel renamed the upcoming MCU Spider-Man story. The new series, originally titled “Spider-Man: Freshman Year,” has now been renamed “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” by Marvel.
“Makes a lot of sense,” – commented Redditor Spiderbyte – “When the old title was announced, everyone assumed it was a Homecoming prequel.”
However, this is not the case. The upcoming Disney Plus series will explore Peter Parker’s origins, which have so far been unexplored in the cinematic universe. In short, it’s very different from Tom Holland’s portrayal. Although this is the case, fans were hoping that Holland would return in some form. Unfortunately, the actor is not expected to return to play the role.
Even though Holland is said not to be returning for another Spidey role, at least not in this instance, familiar faces (or should we say voices) will make an appearance. Arguably, one of the most exciting is that of Charlie Cox, who will play Daredevil again. Also, Hudson Thames is once again lending his talents to the latest MCU outing.
In Thames’ portrayal, instead of the popular teenage superhero, Norman Osborn will be Peter’s mentor, not Tony Stark.
“Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” will air 10 episodes on November 2 on Disney+.
