TECH NEWS – After the PS5 Pro rumours, Sony details the future of its console in a technical presentation, which already has a date and time. And a mistake made it clear what it was going to be about…
We’ve been reading more and more enthusiastic PlayStation 5 Pro rumours for weeks now. On the one hand, insiders have claimed that a big Sony event is planned for September this year. On the other hand, leaks about a more powerful PS5 have focused a lot of attention on a supposed PS5 Pro. Now, it looks like these two topics will collide at a conference focused, of course, on the future of the next-gen console. In short, it’s a technical presentation that will be broadcast today, September 10th, at 17:00 CET on the PlayStation YouTube channel in English.
It looks like it won’t be a very long webcast. According to a statement from the official PlayStation X account, the PlayStation 5 technical presentation will be 9 minutes long. Although Sony did not specify the content of the event, it said that PS5 designer Mark Cerny would be the host. So, we can expect a broadcast that focuses exclusively on the future of the next-generation console from a purely technical point of view.
How do we know it will be the PS5 Pro?!
As we know, only death (and taxes, of course) is certain, but thanks to Sony’s accidental misstep, it is almost 100 per cent certain that we will hear about an improved version of the PS5.
The problem was caused by a 12-second video posted on YouTube hidden under the title “PS5 Pro.”
The recording shows the announcement of the PlayStation 5’s technical presentation, which will take place on September 10. It was probably used to share the commercial internally, which would then appear on social media. Google’s video platform is sometimes used for this purpose, as those with the link can only view hidden videos.
The link leak allowed users to watch the video, which is still available on YouTube. (See below.) Sony did not delete it because the recording is not classified. The problem was in the title. It was initially available as “PS5 Pro”, but the post was renamed twice after it was leaked. First “PS5”, then “PlayStation 5 Technical Presentation – September 10”. The truth is that this is a human and innocent error that is as serious as it is innocent when it comes to managing corporate communications.
With the name seemingly confirmed, we’ll just have to wait for Sony’s official announcement of the new PS5 Pro to reveal its features, promotional plans, and release date. Everything will probably be revealed today, September 10, at 17:00 CET.
Tune in tomorrow for a PlayStation 5 Technical Presentation hosted by Mark Cerny
The 9-minute stream begins September 10 at 8:00am PT / 4:00pm BST. Full details: https://t.co/VC31WS9VYd pic.twitter.com/qGUF0Yj9Ia
