Permanent Way and Midwest Games announced the game’s release date during the Xbox Partner Preview broadcast.

Inspired by fables passed down through generations, the story of Sepehr and Baboo begins when their idyllic island is invaded by a demonic force commanded by an ancient evil. Together, the boy and his dog use the power of their bond to save their island, rescue their family, and defeat the darkness behind it all. Sepehr and Baboo work together as a team, each offering unique skills to defeat enemies, solve puzzles, and traverse dangerous and magical lands. Play as both heroes throughout the journey, switching between them to progress through the game.

Swing, jump, climb and ride Baboo through enchanted and breathtaking environments. Solve puzzles and platform through perilous challenges across black forests, raging waters, cursed wilds, and frozen lands. Sepehr wields a magic wand to fend off demons, and Baboo defends with his claws and super bark. Dodge, roll, and slash enemies with a variety of attacks in highly reactive, action-packed combat. Along the way, you’ll encounter the demon guardian of each realm, so be prepared for otherworldly and thrilling boss encounters!

Both Sepehr and Baboo have an RPG-inspired skill tree to boost offensive and defensive abilities in battle – along with unlockable skills! Customize Baboo with various outfits and ornaments earned throughout your journey to make the loyal boy look his best! Defeat bosses to unlock special magical attacks that consume mana but take down large hordes of enemies. Equip your favorite special attacks to create a build that suits your play style! Play at the difficulty level that suits you best: easy, medium, or hard mode.

The Legend of Baboo will be released in 2025 for Xbox Series, PC (Steam; wishlist now) and Xbox One. The platform will be almost 12 years old by then!
