Is Rocksteady Returning to Their Successful Formula?

According to a rumor, Rocksteady has been given the green light to do something that many have been waiting for from the studio for years… Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD)?

Regarding WBD, we wrote a few days ago how much the publisher was complaining as they closed another unsuccessful quarter. They have now also announced that they have posted a loss of over $100 million. Rocksteady is partly to blame, as they were the team behind WBD’s previous scapegoat: Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, which, even after a long delay, was not of the highest quality. The studio has shown that the live service model is not for them.

This is how Vara Dark reported a rumor on Twitter, which is good news if what’s being talked about is actually happening: “Confirmed! Rocksteady is adding Deathstroke and the real Batman (the one we originally wanted to see) to Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League for the final 2 seasons. It seems they are desperate to get players back in the game, but it’s too late. Warner Bros. Discovery recently talked about franchises they’d like to focus on and DC, specifically Batman, was mentioned.

The same sources that told me layoffs were coming months ago (and were correct) tell me they’ve internally greenlit a remake of Batman: Arkham Asylum and may continue the Arkhamverse with the voice cast from Batman: Arkham Origins. They recently reunited to do Batman: Arkham Shadows with Camoflaj,” Vara Dark wrote.

So Batman: Arkham Asylum, the first episode from 2009, might be getting a remake. Since Rocksteady worked on it (as well as on 2011’s Batman: Arkham City and 2015’s Batman: Arkham Knight), it would really keep the project in-house, and with that, WBD might have realized that they should do something that the audience would like, and not just the investors would have to buy in…

But this is not official yet.
