Another day has dawned, which means we’ve got another rumour about a remake of the beloved The Legend of Zelda game coming to the Nintendo Switch. There are plenty of games worth revisiting for a franchise as massive as The Legend of Zelda. Which one is best depends on who you ask. The fact is that, for example, Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker and Breath of the Wild are still very popular.
As for today’s topic, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker was originally released in 2002 for the Nintendo GameCube and received an HD remaster for the Wii U in 2013.
It’s been over ten years since The Wind Waker HD was released in 2013, and – along with Twilight Princess – fans have been waiting for a Nintendo Switch release.
It looks like, at least for one of the games, that wish might come true.
As International-Mess75 shared in a Reddit post, a new remaster of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker has been spotted at a Russian retailer. The provisional release date is December 31, 2024.
Of course, it’s worth keeping in mind that this apparent retail listing is by no means an endorsement. It might just be an attempt by the marketers to get some attention. Plus, it’s no secret that fans really want to see this remaster.
“This is probably nothing. Remember Metroid Prime Trilogy on Switch was listed by some retailers including Best Buy,” KjSuperstar08 reminded.
“I hope this is legit but, I won’t be surprised if it isn’t,” replied Valkyrie743.
“That’s cool, if this is true then I hope Twilight Princess will get a Switch port too,” said Pleasant_Incident_61.
I think at this point it would be more of a surprise if Nintendo didn’t release The Wind Waker or Twilight Princess on the Nintendo Switch at some point. Hopefully, it’s not a matter of “if” they release it but “when”.
