Star Wars Outlaws Arrives on Steam Today, Along With Massive Update & First Major Expansion!

Star Wars Outlaws debuts on Steam at 19:00 with a major update and the first expansion called Wild Card.

Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Massive, is one of the most promising games of the year. Many people liked it, but many others were dissatisfied with the game’s bugs and problems. So much so that the game seems to have been a sales failure for Ubisoft. However, the French company has worked with the community to improve many aspects of the title.

The open-world Star Wars adventure is coming to Steam today, November 21st at 7:00 PM (listing available now). In addition to a massive update, Ubisoft is also releasing the first expansion for Star Wars Outlaws, titled Wild Card, and its story revolves around Lando Calrissian. However, a few hours ago, the company revealed via its blog a major change that affects the gameplay and fixes one of the most criticized aspects of the game so far.

This time we are talking about mandatory stealth, which we are forced to do during many missions. Starting with Update 1.4, players have much more freedom to approach missions the way they want. “Our first step in expanding player choice is removing forced stealth from almost all quest objectives. This does not mean that sneaking is no longer a viable or even preferable option in some cases. Rather, if you’re caught while sneaking, the objective won’t fail and reset you to the last checkpoint. Instead, you’ll seamlessly transition into combat,” explains Creative Director Drew Rechner (via GamesRadar).

“Ultimately, you’ll have the choice to sneak, go in combat-first, or—my personal favorite—sneak until you’re caught and then blast your way out.”

We will also be able to fight within the syndicates, which is also new since “previously only stealth was allowed”. Other changes mentioned a few days ago include significant improvements to AI and combat – both of which have been thoroughly overhauled. So all weapons and enemies have received stat modifications, and now you can kill enemies quickly by shooting at specific points, such as their heads.

In addition to recoil, ammo, and accuracy improvements, Ubisoft is expected to continue developing the title until the release of the second expansion in spring 2025, especially given that they changed director after the release of Star Wars Outlaws.
