The community manager calls for calm amidst fan outrage over Palworld’s absence from the nominees.
It’s that time of year when Geoff Keighley’s Game Awards highlights the biggest games of the year, inevitably sparking outrage from fans disappointed by certain omissions.
This year, Palworld, released in January, is among the surprising absentees. For much of the year, it enjoyed massive popularity, generating discussions and countless hours of gameplay. However, the Game Awards doesn’t operate based on player numbers or media coverage. It’s about vibes—a panel of people saying, “I like this game.” And apparently, this year there weren’t enough fans saying that about Palworld.
That hasn’t stopped accusations of the game being “snubbed” from making the rounds online. Addressing these claims, community manager John Buckley took to Twitter to set the record straight.
“No, I don’t think Palworld was snubbed,” Buckley tweeted. “Twitter has become such a banterless place. Stop being so over dramatic gamers. Not everything is a conspiracy.”

That being said…Satisfactory was 1000% snubbed and I’ll be voicing that opinion ad nauseam at The Game Awards in person😡

Classic Twitter behavior, indeed.
It’s natural for fans to want their favorite games to be acknowledged by prestigious events like the Game Awards. Is a game truly great if Geoff Keighley doesn’t tip his hat to it? Sarcasm aside, it’s understandable. Everyone wants the teams behind their favorite games to be recognized for their hard work and creativity. But when that doesn’t happen, it’s not a conspiracy.
We all have games we wish had been nominated. For Buckley, it’s Satisfactory. For me, it’s any strategy game—seriously, can we get one? A dedicated strategy category is long overdue. But see how easy it is to get caught up in this drama? We’re all just playing along with Geoff’s symphony.
