MOVIE NEWS – Christopher Nolan has signed the great Charlize Theron to join the cast of his mysterious new film…

It’s starting to look like there’s no other star left for Christopher Nolan to cast in his next film. The director’s first project since his Oscar-winning film Oppenheimer may still be a mystery in many ways, but the cast is definitely not, as Charlize Theron has joined the already impressive list of big-name stars.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the plot is still completely unknown. According to some news outlets, all genre and/or story rumours are baseless. But with more and more cast members being announced every day, it seems like it’s only a matter of time before we find out more.

First, we heard about Matt Damon’s casting. Then we heard that Tom Holland would be joining the cast. Then Holland’s girlfriend Zendaya and Anne Hathaway joined the team. And recently, we heard that Lupita Nyong’o and Robert Pattinson are also joining the film.

What do we know so far about Christopher Nolan’s mysterious new film?

Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson: that’s a lot of big names – and it seems inevitable that we’ll be hearing even more as the year draws to a close. Of course, there’s so much speculation and rumours swirling around the Interstellar director’s latest film that it’s hard to tell what’s true and what’s not.

That said, THR has a little information about the cast we know so far:

“Sources say that Damon, Holland, Hathaway and Pattinson make up the core leads of the feature, while Nyong’o and Zendaya are said to have supporting roles.”

Okay, that’s something, right? Of course, without more information, it seems difficult to write much more about the film beyond the fact that Nolan wrote the script, and Universal will distribute the film. The studio has set a July 17, 2026 release date for the project. This will be Nolan’s second film with Universal – the first was Oppenheimer after their long-term business relationship ended following his highly public split with Warner Bros. Discovery.

Nolan will produce the film with his producing partner and wife, Emma Thomas, under their Syncopy banner. Theron, who has several memorable roles to her name, was recently seen reprising her role as Cipher in Fast X. She currently has six projects in the works, including sequels to Atomic Blonde and The Old Guard.

Christopher Nolan’s next film is set to hit theatres on July 17, 2026.
