TECH NEWS – There are some interesting predictions for Samsung Galaxy S phones coming next year… The position of the South Korean company is a bit negative because of it.
Samsung plans to release three Galaxy S25 models next year. These will be unveiled at the beginning of the year and will hit the stores in the first quarter (by the end of March). The South Korean company plans to ship 37 million of them, with a similarly modest production target. As for this year’s Galaxy S24 devices, Jukanlosreve wrote on Twitter that Samsung will ship about 35 million units.
So next year the company might produce a little more, which could be because there will be no Exynos 2500 variant, but only the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip that Samsung will use in the Galaxy S25. But even that won’t save the company from a negative result, as it was first reported in October that Samsung would ship 237 million devices in 2025, but the current target may be only 229.4 million, while this year’s figure was around 222 million. The company is aiming to produce around 7 million foldable devices, which is much less than traditional smartphones, but this is understandable as these are much harder for Samsung to sell.
Price is also a factor, and not many people tend to use foldable devices on a daily basis. With more manufacturers entering the market, Samsung has an uphill battle. However, generative artificial intelligence could improve Samsung’s results, but fewer units shipped sounds like a bad omen anyway.
It will be interesting to see what results the Samsung Galaxy S25 will show. Generative AI played a big role in marketing this year, but the company may not be able to use it again next year. The question now is how well the Galaxy S25 can keep up with its main competitor, Apple’s iPhone 16.
