MOVIE NEWS – Amazon and Games Workshop have reached an agreement for the Warhammer 40K projects being developed with Henry Cavill at the helm. In addition, another sci-fi is also in the works: Voltron.
It seems that 2024 will end with good news for Henry Cavill and his fans. The day before yesterday, it was reported that Amazon had given the green light to the development of a TV series set in the Warhammer 40K universe. Not long after, we learned that the tech giant’s other project, Voltron, is also moving forward; according to a picture shared on Instagram, it is already preparing to start filming!
On the official profile of Voltron and the film’s producer, Bob Koplar, on the Meta social network, we could see a backstage photo from the filming, with the following message: “Cameras are rolling”. This means that filming has begun on the live-action version of the legendary sci-fi anime, which is about a space exploration team and “Voltron, the protector of the universe”.
Voltron featuring Henry Cavill Voltron “stays true” to the original “heart and spirit”
The film is being directed and written by Rawson Marshall Thurber (The Skyscraper), who says he’s wanted to bring this story to the cinema since he was eight years old, so we can suspect that the project is in very good hands: “In this film, we’re going to be introducing an entirely new generation of pilots. We’ve reimagined Voltron for the live-action world, but we’re going to stay true to the heart and the spirit of Voltron,” the American filmmaker added.
Voltron stars Henry Cavill along with big-name stars such as Daniel Quinn-Toye, Sterling K. Brown, Rita Ora, Alba Baptista, Samson Kayo, John Kim, Tharanya Tharan, Laura Gordon and Tim Griffin.
Henry Cavill will also be filming the Highlander reboot with the John Wick director in the coming months, after he was forced to postpone the project due to reshoots for Ballerina. This delay could have allowed the British actor to star in Voltron. There is no release date for either film/series yet.
