[TGA 2024] Borderlands 4: The First Trailer Promises the Biggest and Most Insane Borderlands Yet! [VIDEO]

Publisher 2K and Gearbox Software have finally unveiled the first trailer and screenshots for Borderlands 4. The latest installment promises an even bigger, crazier, and more loot-filled adventure for fans of the franchise.

The reveal came during The Game Awards 2024, where a new trailer introduced The Timekeeper, a tyrannical ruler dominating the world of Kairos, the most dangerous planet ever seen in the Borderlands universe. Chaos is unleashed when a catastrophic event threatens his perfectly ordered rule, plunging the planet into mayhem. Players must take on the role of badass Vault Hunters, navigating the chaos while pursuing epic loot and bringing justice to the galaxy’s most corrupt dictator.

Gearbox Software head Randy Pitchford set the tone for the game, saying, “Borderlands 4 is about freedom and being badass. This is by far the biggest and most insane world we’ve ever made—overloaded with grotesque monsters that can only be taken down with the most over-the-top guns and loot. Oh, and the story seriously kicks ass!”

Borderlands 4 raises the stakes with its gameplay innovations and expansive world design. Players will experience the deepest Vault Hunter skill trees yet, offering unparalleled customization and a loot system designed to keep every playthrough fresh and exciting. Dynamic traversal mechanics and seamless zone transitions make the game’s expansive world feel more immersive than ever, while new missions and hidden secrets reward those who explore every corner of Kairos.

The trailer hints at an epic sci-fi adventure packed with explosive action, high-stakes boss battles, and an unforgettable cast of characters. The game also teases post-launch content, including new mechanics that allow players to leave their mechs for on-foot combat. The Borderlands 4 experience is set to redefine the looter-shooter genre while staying true to its chaotic roots.

Scheduled for release in 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC via Steam, Borderlands 4 promises to deliver the most ambitious Borderlands experience yet.
