Rainbow Six Siege: Scandal Hits eSports Team’s Coach and Manager! [VIDEO]

During an event for Ubisoft’s game, Matheus “Budega” Figueiredo and Igor “Vivas” Vivas, the head coach and manager of the eSports team M80, attracted negative attention.

Ubisoft has kicked Budega and Vivas out of the 2025 Rainbow Six Invitational, as can be seen in a video of the incident. The M80 lost 2-1 to DarkZero Esports, and Budega can be seen yelling at the DarkZero team and then having to be restrained to avoid hitting one of the players. In the first video, Budega can be heard in the background during an interview expressing his displeasure in a throat-clearing voice, and then the beginning of the scandalous scene was broadcast live (with a slightly facetious commentary, as the commentator’s remark was “Who says eSports is boring?”).

The incident happened on the third and final map after Budega broke a rule and DarkZero got a free round. They stopped the match, Budega started yelling, more than once in the faces of the DarkZero players, and then he ran into Nathan “Nafe” Sharp, a member of the team, and that’s when the officials intervened. Budega was immediately ejected, and Vivas was ejected shortly thereafter. Budega confirmed that he had been warned twice before and then defended himself this way: “A member of Blast’s staff is making false accusations about me, saying that I physically intimidated him. That’s a lie and the fact that someone has the courage to lie about it makes me sick. I yelled things in the heat of the moment that could have been avoided like ‘whoever made that decision should be fired’ but I never touched anyone and my conscience is clean, I still have a chance to have my ‘ban’ revoked.” Budega’s seemingly childish behavior comes after he received a 12-month suspension from Ubisoft in 2022.

“Disappointed and shocked by what happened during and after today’s match. Completely unacceptable. Sorry to the players, fans, Ubisoft staff and DarkZero for what happened. Totally ashamed of how M80 was represented today. There are really no words,” said M80 founder and CEO Marco Mereu. The team will continue to compete in the lower division of the event, the Invitational, which is the biggest event in the game, with the top 20 teams from around the world competing in Boston for the Sledgehammer trophy and the lion’s share of the $3 million prize pool.

According to Ubisoft, there is an active investigation into the conduct of Budega and Vivas.
