Huawei: Is the Combination of 5.5G and AI Really a Game Changer?

TECH NEWS – Huawei Technologies brought ultra-fast internet, AI-driven networks and industry-transforming digital solutions to this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. The company’s new 5.5G-based developments promise real-time translation during video calls, lightning-fast data transfers and smarter transportation, while helping enterprises monetize AI solutions. MWC also debuted the industry’s first AI-based core network that independently manages data traffic, and a new data storage system that allows service providers to enter the AI market. The new technologies and developments create new opportunities for enterprises and end users in the digital economy.

Huawei Technologies demonstrated at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona how the integration of 5.5G technology and artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming network infrastructure and industrial digitalization. 5.5G, the next generation of 5G networks, significantly increases the capacity and efficiency of current systems, delivering speeds of up to 10 Gbps, lower latency and power consumption, and higher device connection density. This technology enables, for example, real-time handling of high-resolution data transmission, building intelligent transportation systems, or supporting industrial automation. Combined with AI, 5.5G opens up new opportunities in the digital economy for both service providers and enterprises.

AI and 5.5G: Breakthrough Network Innovations

At this year’s MWC, Huawei showcased a number of new developments that illustrate this advancement. The industry’s first AI-powered core network efficiently and precisely regulates data traffic, significantly reducing network disruptions and increasing operational efficiency. This is accompanied by the AI-Ready data storage system, which prepares service providers to introduce AI-based services, such as personalized offers or predictive maintenance systems. Another new product was Huawei’s AI WAN solution, which enhances the performance of industrial networks by entering the Net5.5G era, especially in areas such as smart manufacturing or autonomous vehicle infrastructure. Yang Chaobin, Head of Wireless Network Solutions at Huawei, highlighted: “The combination of 5.5G and AI gives service providers a strategic advantage in creating new business models and maximizing network value.” The new technologies offer practical benefits: from real-time translation in video calls to lightning-fast data transmission, they improve user and enterprise experiences in many areas.

In the field of industrial digitalization, Huawei, together with its partners, has launched ten new solutions aimed at the digital transformation of healthcare, education, and manufacturing, in response to global industry needs and the challenges of technological advancement. In healthcare, the company offers intelligent systems that support diagnostics and patient care with real-time data processing and AI-based analytics, improving the efficiency and accessibility of healthcare services. In education, it promotes the integration of digital learning materials and the construction of distance learning infrastructure, enabling the creation of modern, personalized learning environments. In the manufacturing sector, intelligent automation and connected systems optimize production processes, reduce operating costs, and increase flexibility along the principles of Industry 4.0. The company aims to create an ecosystem with these solutions in which 5.5G, AI, and cloud-based technologies work in an integrated manner, supporting the transition of industries to a more efficient and sustainable model.

Network evolution: at the gates of the AI era

Huawei’s developments connect the past and future of network innovation. By the end of 2024, there will be more than 2.1 billion 5G users worldwide, and this number is growing. The company is working with service providers to further develop 5G, supporting the transition from mobile Internet to the era of mobile AI with business and technology innovations. At the MWC exhibition, interested parties could experience first-hand how these new network solutions work and how they are changing everyday life – from remote working to streaming to industrial digitalization. According to Huawei, the combination of 5.5G and AI represents not only a technological leap, but also a new economic and social development opportunity that will impact all sectors, bringing tangible benefits to both companies and society.
