Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Did They Really Consider Durability?

TECH NEWS – The South Korean company takes a slightly contradictory stance on its slim smartphone, saying one thing and doing another.

Apple wants to go head to head with Samsung. From the American company comes the iPhone 17 Air and from the South Korean the Galaxy S25 Edge. Samsung showed the latter at the Galaxy Unpacked event, but the company didn’t say anything about the device’s specifications. The audience, however, thought one thing was perfectly logical: if a phone is thin, it must be more fragile, but Samsung reacted to it…

We’ll probably learn more about the Galaxy S25 Edge on April 16, when there will be an online event before the phone goes on sale in May. However, leaks have led us to learn more about the phone. Annika Bizon, Samsung UK’s marketing director, told TechRadar in an interview that we don’t need to worry about the durability of the Galaxy S25 Edge: “One focus of the device is that it’s absolutely stunning. And when you think about the technology that goes into that size of space, it’s pretty impressive. The second thing I’d say is durability. Those are the two features that are exciting. Now, I know durability isn’t exciting – but it’s really important,” Bizon said.

The iPhone 6 Plus used to be pretty thin. There’s nothing wrong with that, but Apple achieved it at the expense of structural integrity, and many users complained that the phone bent when they put it in their pockets. That’s why Samsung wants to take a cautious approach, and why it’s already trying to calm tempers. The phone is rumored to have a ceramic back instead of glass, which Samsung may use on the phone. This could improve protection against breakage and make the back less prone to scratching, which is good news.

The slimmer form factor without sacrificing robustness looks promising, and more details about the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge will be revealed when the device is unveiled.
