Hideo Kojima’s game finally has a release date to the day, so you can prepare if you want to take a few days off.
As we suspected, we got the exact release date for Kojima Productions’ game during the SXSW 2025 panel. Of course, you’ll be able to pre-order it, but you’ll have to wait until March 17th. If we do, we’ll get the custom Quakka hologram and silver Battle Skeleton on all three levels early, as well as the silver Bokka Skeleton and Boost Skeleton.
The Digital Deluxe version of Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, which costs $80 (presumably €90), offers the gold Battle Skeleton, the gold Bokka Skeleton, the gold Boost Skeleton on all three levels, and an early unlock of the first level of the Machine Gun, as well as three badges (Patch 70: Quakka, Patch 71: Chiral Feline, Patch 72: Why Me?). The $230 Collector’s Edition comes in a collector’s box and includes a 15″ (38.1cm) Magellan Man statue, some art cards, a Kojima letter, a 3″ (7.62cm) Dollman figurine, and the in-game items mentioned above. Of course, the game is included in the package, but it’s not on a disk, it’s just a download code.
There will also be new characters in the game. Elle Fanning is behind Tomorrow and Shioli Kutsuna is behind Rainy. In the new trailer (which you can see in the first video below), someone we haven’t seen before has appeared alongside them: It’s Neil, played by Italian actor Luca Marinelli, who looks a lot like Snake from Metal Gear Solid, and for good reason, as Kojima talked about it a few years ago.
Death Stranding 2: On The Beach will be released on June 26th for PlayStation 5.
