With the Nintendo Switch 2 launch just days away, we’re hearing some interesting things about Koei Tecmo’s game.

There’s a lot of speculation about the system performance capabilities of the Nintendo Switch 2, which launches in most parts of the world next week. It will be capable of up to 120 FPS in handheld mode and up to 4K/60 FPS when docked. Complex open-world games, such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Star Wars: Outlaws, will be ported to the hardware. Koei Tecmo’s game will be one of the launch titles for the new Nintendo platform. In an interview, we learned that the Japanese development team attempted to run the game at 4K resolution and 60 FPS but had to reduce it to 1080p at 30 FPS.

“We are not using Nvidia DLSS. The game runs at full HD and 30 FPS. We experimented with 4K and 60 FPS, but rendering the Japanese archipelago with these graphics requires more power than you can imagine, and it’s difficult to maintain stability, so we had to give up. We hope to revisit this challenge in the future if the opportunity arises.”

Thanks to the Nintendo Switch 2’s advanced hardware, the graphics have significantly improved. Elements like the sea, sky, and ground look much more realistic, which enhances the game’s immersive experience. Players will enjoy having this level of graphics in a portable format. Additionally, mouse operation via Joy-Con 2 and USB mouse support makes intuitive controls possible. “We have also included some game content that was previously only available in Asia. We hope players will enjoy it,” said Michi Ryu, the game’s producer and director, in an interview with WCCFTech.

Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening is not a system-intensive game. The recommended PC system requirements are:

Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening Complete Edition is one of the launch titles for Nintendo Switch 2, so it will arrive on the console on June 5.
