Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: It Doesn’t Fare Well in Drop Tests! [VIDEO]

TECH NEWS – Despite the Gorilla Glass protection, Samsung’s new ultra-slim phone can’t withstand an accidental drop. Officially unveiled on May 13, the Galaxy S25 Edge stands out for being just 5.8 mm thick – the thinnest S-series device the brand has ever made – but this engineering feat comes with real-world drawbacks.

The slim profile means not only a shorter battery life and a hefty price, but also major concerns about durability. Thicker phones typically absorb impacts better, whereas the sophisticated shape of the S25 Edge offers less protection. While the phone did pass a bend test, a recent drop test video from PBK reveals the S25 Edge’s display cracked immediately when dropped from a typical holding height, despite having Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 for protection.

In further tests, dropping the device on its back led to cracks in the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 rear glass, and impacts on the edge dented the frame. Even though the display remained functional, the S25 Edge’s drop performance was noticeably worse than other S25 models.

For many smartphone buyers, durability and the ability to survive accidental drops are essential. In this regard, Samsung’s ultra-thin S25 Edge falls short of expectations.
