iPhone 17: Bigger Screen, Smaller Bezels?

TECH NEWS – Apple is reportedly increasing screen sizes across the entire iPhone 17 lineup this year, thanks to even slimmer bezels.

As the September launch approaches, new leaks point to a size boost for the iPhone 17 displays—mostly because Apple plans to shrink the bezels even further. Ross Young, a well-known industry analyst, reports that the next standard iPhone will have a 6.27-inch (15.92 cm) screen, a modest but noticeable jump from the current 6.1-inch (15.49 cm) display.

According to 9to5Google, other sources have echoed these rumors, making the upgrade increasingly likely. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are set to maintain their 6.3- and 6.9-inch (16 and 17.52 cm) screens, respectively. Meanwhile, the new iPhone 17 Air will reportedly sport a 6.7-inch (17.01 cm) display, which lines up with the outgoing iPhone 16 Plus model.

Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station adds that most other changes will be software-related. There were earlier rumors of a smaller Dynamic Island for the Pro models, but that tweak appears to be at least a year away. The feature has remained unchanged since its iPhone 14 Pro debut and continues to be present on both base iPhone 16 models. Instead, Apple seems focused on using new software features to help the iPhone 17 stand out, though these will only arrive with iOS 26 later this year.

As for hardware, some reports claim the iPhone 17 Pro Max could feature a sleeker, elongated Dynamic Island, but conflicting sources suggest this upgrade will be held for the iPhone 18 Pro Max next year.
