MOVIE NEWS – The Oscar-winning star of Basic Instinct and Casino has rarely appeared on the big screen lately. Her last movie role was four years ago (Here Today), since then she has only had small parts in TV productions and music videos. But Hollywood hasn’t forgotten her: director Timo Tjahanto picked her as the main villain of Nobody 2, though he thought she’d likely turn down the offer.

“She’s like a snake—calm on the outside, but can snap into killer mode in a heartbeat,” the director told Empire Online about his choice. “But I thought we’d never get Sharon Stone. We sent her the script, and a few days later I was sitting on her couch talking about the character. Suddenly she interrupted: ‘Okay, Timo, I’m in!’ It was a totally surreal moment.”

Not only did Tjahanto doubt Stone would say yes, but the actress herself had her doubts. She wasn’t sure if she could still bring her old intensity. “Honestly, I had no idea,” Stone told Empire Online. “Do I still have that wildness in me? Will the audience believe I’m still the unstoppable villain?”

In Nobody 2, Hutch Mansell (Bob Odenkirk) goes on vacation with his family, but their peaceful holiday is ruined by the local Russian mafia led by the fierce Lendina (Stone). Naturally, Hutch uses his usual methods to restore order.
