TECH NEWS – Nvidia’s plans have been revealed on the Zotac website, which is listing a graphics card that hasn’t been announced yet.

The mid-range GPU segment has definitely heated up since AMD released competitive RDNA 4 graphics cards. Nvidia has been competing with them using their 70 and 60 class offerings. Nevertheless, the “reds” have gained a significant lead in this segment. Nvidia is looking to expand its GPU products, particularly the 50 series. In recent years, it has only offered one model, but according to Zotac‘s Taiwanese site, Nvidia may be preparing an RTX 5050 Ti to attract the mainstream GPU market.

While the RTX 5050 is proportionally inferior to the older GTX 1630 (with a lower CUDA core ratio and a thinner memory bus), it appears that Nvidia is making a wise decision (and perhaps developing a class 40 card, though we haven’t seen this from the company in over a decade). Following the usual trend, Ti models tend to have higher clock speeds, and in the case of class 60 GPUs, more VRAM. Considering how poorly 8 GB GPUs are received in the consumer market, it would make sense for Nvidia to release an RTX 5050 Ti with 16 GB of VRAM.

The standard RTX 5050 has 8 GB of VRAM, a base clock speed of 2.31 GHz, and a boost clock speed of 2.57 GHz. However, the GPU doesn’t support GDDR7 VRAM; you’ll need to opt for the RTX 5060 for that. Since the RTX 5050 Ti is limited to GDDR6, expect it to stay on GDDR6. GDDR6 is cheaper, so Nvidia could offer buyers more attractive pricing. Of course, it would still be overpriced considering the company’s product prices.

We can expect details of the RTX 5050 Ti to surface soon if Nvidia and its board partners are preparing this model. However, it could be a typo because Zotac used the same page for the RTX 5060 Ti. And having checked the page ourselves, this might be the case.
