It’s been almost two years since Bethesda Game Studios’ (BGS) game was released for Xbox Series and PC, but Sony’s console may finally get Todd Howard’s game.
Despite the lack of an official announcement, the rumored Starfield PlayStation 5 port is reportedly still in development, though it may be some time before it’s released. In response to a Twitter user’s question about the long-rumored port of BGS’s latest RPG, insider NateTheHate stated that the port is still in development but may be delayed. The leaker added that an update on the matter will be provided as soon as possible. The PlayStation 5 port of Starfield will be released later than planned, which is disappointing for those waiting for BGS’s latest big RPG.
Still happening; but release may have slipped a touch later than originally planned. Will update when I can.

However, it’s not surprising, as it’s not the only related project taking longer than expected. A few days ago, NateTheHate revealed that a second DLC is in development but probably won’t be released this year. If the DLC is more substantial than Shattered Space and adds features that enhance the base game experience, it wouldn’t be surprising if BGS released a port with the new add-on, possibly called Starborn. We’ve reported on this before, so the possible name of the DLC is nothing new.
Todd Howard announced Starfield at E3 2018 with a teaser video. At the same time, The Elder Scrolls VI was revealed, a game on which BGS is already hard at work, as development of Starfield is largely complete. A DLC and a port don’t require the entire team. Starfield was originally intended for the PlayStation 5, but BGS stopped that when Microsoft acquired its parent company, ZeniMax Media. At the time, they were several years from starting full development on The Elder Scrolls VI.
