Frostpunk 2: Soon We’ll Be Able to Freeze on Consoles Too! [VIDEO]

11 Bit Studios has finally announced the release date for Frostpunk 2 on consoles. PC gamers will be able to experience the story, at least some of it, on September 18, when the game will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. However, Frostpunk 2 will not be available everywhere.

The release date for Frostpunk 2 on consoles is September 18 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. It seems that the studio is not yet planning to port it to the Nintendo Switch 2. The release date was announced with a new trailer, but it seems that the video was released prematurely because it has since been set to private. However, this was done too late because the video is already viewable on Twitter. Therefore, we can safely consider the whole thing official.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers have something to look forward to. Frostpunk 2 is already available on PC Game Pass and will also be available on Xbox Series in September. We previously reported that the game would be getting a sequel and announced the release date. Along with the console release, two DLC expansions will be released by the end of the year, as previously announced. A third, as-yet-untitled DLC is also scheduled for release in 2026.

Unfortunately for 11 Bit Studios, an announcement that wasn’t supposed to be made public yet has been leaked, but this is exciting news for console gamers who have been eagerly awaiting the game’s release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. Frostpunk 2 was released on PC last September and received fairly good reviews from the press.

There is only about a year’s difference between the PC and console releases, which may seem long, but 11 Bit Studios isn’t on the same level as CD Projekt RED; they can’t launch everywhere at once.
