MOVIE NEWS – House of the Dragon Season 3 has officially cast one of George R. R. Martin’s most legendary warriors. As filming continues on the Game of Thrones prequel, fans finally know who will bring this iconic character to life.
Deadline reports that Annie Shapero (Red Skies) will play Alysanne Blackwood in Season 3 of House of the Dragon. While not a series regular, she’s set to appear in five episodes. The character’s pivotal role in Fire & Blood has kept fans eagerly waiting for this casting news. Though details about the season remain scarce, Shapero is set to debut as Alysanne when the show returns to HBO in 2026.
Alysanne “Black Aly” Blackwood is a major figure in the source material, and could easily become a new fan-favorite after her live-action debut. In Martin’s book, she’s Lord Benjicot Blackwood’s aunt and a fierce ally to Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) during the Dance of the Dragons. She later marries Cregan Stark (Tom Taylor), a character already introduced in the series. It’s unclear if she’ll return for the planned fourth and final season.
