Darksiders 4: The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse Assemble! [VIDEO]

For the first time, all four legendary Horsemen are playable in Gunfire Games’ bold new project, and that means THQ Nordic is raising the stakes for the entire franchise. Darksiders 4 is a third-person action-adventure that lets you fight, explore, and solve puzzles in a lore-rich, post-apocalyptic world. Players can choose from four iconic Horsemen, each boasting unique weapons and combat styles. The action is fast and furious, with a dynamic mix of melee brawling, fluid traversal, and supernatural abilities. You’ll cross ravaged landscapes overflowing with secrets, foes, and mythic bosses.

Unfortunately, that’s all Gunfire Games is sharing for now—so it’s likely we’re looking at a title that gets a teaser this year and goes radio silent until next year’s big info drop. THQ Nordic is a pro at this drip-feed strategy, as we’ve seen with several other games in recent years. One thing’s missing from the target platforms: the Nintendo Switch 2. This could mean Gunfire Games hasn’t received dev kits from Nintendo yet or simply didn’t plan for a release on the new hardware—but that could always change down the line.

The biggest headline from the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase was, without question, Darksiders 4. We’ll circle back with more from the showcase later today. After Chronos: Before the Ashes and both Remnant games, Gunfire Games is returning to its roots—the studio was founded by David Adams after Vigil Games shut down, and these are the developers behind the original Darksiders duo. The last mainline entry in 2018 split opinions, while the 2019 spin-off Darksiders Genesis (developed by Airship Syndicate) fared better and introduced Strife, the final Horseman. In the older games, players controlled War, Death, and Fury.

Gunfire and THQ Nordic teased a new Darksiders last year, but now the first real teaser trailer is here. According to the Steam page, the game will feature online co-op—potentially its biggest selling point. Darksiders 4 is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, though no release date has been revealed yet.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
