TECH NEWS – The artificial intelligence–powered technology is already supported in nearly four dozen games, and the list is set to grow.
Last week, Intel released its latest XeSS 2.1 software development kit (SDK), an extension of XeSS 2 technology that provides support for XeSS Frame Generation and Xe Low-Latency technologies on non-Intel GPUs. The SDK includes improvements to XeSS 2 AI upscaling quality, as well as bug fixes and stability enhancements. With XeSS 2, not only Intel but also Nvidia and AMD graphics card owners can benefit from resolution scaling and frame generation, provided their cards support shader model 4.6. Let’s take a look at the list of supported games:
Achilles: Survival, Anarchy Legends Online, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Black Hawk Down, Black Myth: Wukong, Chernobylite 2, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Cyberpunk 2077, Dead Take, Diablo IV, Dune: Awakening, Empyreal, Eternal Strands, F1 24, F1 25, FPlus, Game of Thrones Kingsroad, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, Hogwarts Legacy, Japanese Drift Master, Karma: The Dark World, Killing Floor 3, Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, Marvel Rivals, Mechwarrior 5: Clans, Medieval Dynasty, MindsEye, Naraka: Bladepoint, Payday 3, Rise of the Ronin, Robocop: Rogue City, Robocop: Rogue City Unfinished Business, Sid Meier’s Civilization VII, Skyguard, Star Wars Outlaws, Steel Seed, Still Wakes the Deep, Striden, TankHead, The Talos Principle Reawakened, Voin, War Thunder, Wild Assault, Wreckfest 2.
Currently, Intel’s XeSS 2 technology lags behind AMD’s FSR 4 and Nvidia’s DLSS 4 in terms of popularity. However, the new XeSS 2.1 SDK and recent partnership with Electronic Arts are expected to make the technology popular among game developers. More and more developers are trying to implement all three manufacturers’ resolution-enhancing technologies, which is the best solution.
Intel has made a smart move by opening its technology to developers and making it accessible to non-Intel GPU owners.
