You Can Now Offload DLSS 5 to Another Graphics Card! [VIDEO]

The new Neural Rendering technology is no longer limited to a few games or specific hardware. In fact, it has been unofficially extended to numerous games and GPUs. We’ve confirmed that the technology works on all RTX GPUs and even on AMD Radeon RX 9000 series cards. Now, another modder has run DLSS 5 on a dual-GPU configuration, distributing the workload across two GPUs instead of placing the entire load on a single card. Marcelo Guibout uploaded a video demonstrating DLSS 5 Neural Rendering on a configuration consisting of two GeForce RTX 5000 GPUs. He achieved this using a ReShade add-on called MGPU Bridge, which is available on GitHub.

MGPU Bridge essentially divides the workload between the two GPUs: the first card renders the game while the second performs Neural Rendering. Since Neural Rendering occurs at the end of the frame, the add-on takes the finished frame and passes it to the second card, where DLSS 5 is running. Then, it sends the final result to the monitor. For this method to work, both GPUs must be connected to two monitors. The developer tested this with two 16 GB RTX 5060 Ti cards. At a 1080p resolution in The Blood of Dawnwalker, running DLSS 5 Neural Rendering (DLSS 5 NR) on the primary GPU reduced performance from 67–70 frames per second (FPS) to 44 FPS in Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing (DLAA) mode. However, offloading the neural load to the second card restored performance to 67–70 FPS. In Performance mode, offloading the neural rendering load to the second card increased the FPS from 59 to 107. The developer also tested the feature in Cyberpunk 2077.

The measurements also showed that this configuration results in lower GPU temperatures. According to the developer, it reduces temperatures by 21 °C. Note that this project is experimental and has significant system requirements. Currently, it is limited to DirectX 12 games and requires two RTX 5000 series GPUs and two monitors connected to each card.

The developer has not tested this ReShade add-on on two different RTX 5000 series graphics cards, and it will not work with RTX 4000 series or older hardware.
