TECH NEWS – Jon Prosser seems to have shrugged off the threat from the Cupertino-based company because he posted a new video about a smartphone that hasn’t even been unveiled yet (and won’t be for a month).
With $133 billion in cash reserves, Apple has the resources to maintain an army of lawyers who can burden individuals and companies with litigation until they eventually bow to the tech giant’s will. However, Prosser—who is already facing legal action for leaking information about iOS 16—persisted and posted a video discussing the iPhone 17 Pro’s design and other details.
The most notable change to the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max is perhaps the camera strip, which covers a significant portion of the rear of the two flagship phones. Apple may introduce this aesthetic change for reasons beyond simply signaling to buyers that they’re holding a new device. According to Prosser, based on speculation from external, unnamed sources, the new design provides room for larger camera sensors and associated hardware.
Last year, Apple launched the iPhone 16 Pro, which features a tetraprism periscope zoom lens—marking the first time the iPhone 16 Pro Max didn’t have exclusive ownership of that upgrade. Still, the company needs to push further to keep pace with rivals. Prosser speculates that the camera strip could house a larger periscope zoom lens or a bigger sensor at the top, bringing a range of imaging advantages. The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are also said to feature 48 MP telephoto lenses and 48 MP primary sensors, improving photo and video quality.
While these specifications are impressive on their own, Prosser’s bold decision to publish another video amid Apple’s ongoing lawsuit is a feat that only the most daring individuals would attempt.
