Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 — How Many Maps Can We Expect in Multiplayer? [VIDEO]

There’s never a year without Call of Duty, nor a Call of Duty without leaks — and 2025 is no exception.

A reliable leaker, TheGhostofHope, shared fresh details about this year’s installment. While many expected the series to finally drop 2013’s PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Microsoft reportedly continues to target last-gen hardware — despite PS5 and Xbox Series being nearly five years old. Meanwhile, the previously touted Nintendo plans remain unclear.

Per the latest rumors, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will launch with 16 total 6v6 maps13 original and 3 remastered from Black Ops 2. There will also be two maps at launch for the large-scale, wingsuit-enabled Skirmish mode. Post-launch support is expected to be “plentiful.” The four playable characters in the four-player co-op campaign are David “Section” Mason, Mike Harper, Eric Samuels, and Chloe “Karma” Lynch.

Rumors also suggest pre-orders could open right after the Gamescom Opening Night Live show, so official details may arrive soon. One lingering question: when will Microsoft bring Call of Duty to the Nintendo Switch 2, a commitment it previously touted?
