Syberia Remastered: How It Looked and How It Looks Now! [VIDEO]

We can expect to see the remaster by Microids’ Paris studio alongside the original. There will also be a disc release, though, of course, not on all platforms.

Microids has announced a physical version for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series in North America and Europe. A limited edition will be available, but only in the United Kingdom. This edition includes the game disc and an art book, or “Mediabook,” as extras. Given the game’s stunning visuals, it’s no surprise that they are offering such extras.

More than 20 years after the original release, Syberia has been reborn with a fully modernized version. Rediscover its iconic locations and unforgettable characters through stunning visual updates, redesigned gameplay, and the same immersive storytelling that made it a classic. Kate Walker, a brilliant New York lawyer, is sent to a remote village in the French Alps to finalize the sale of an old factory. But what starts as a routine task quickly transforms into a remarkable journey across Eastern Europe and its snow-covered landscapes.

Accompanied by Oscar, her loyal and unique automaton, Kate ventures into mysterious and forgotten places filled with eccentric characters as she searches for Hans Voralberg, a genius inventor chasing an impossible dream: finding the last living mammoths on the mythical island of Syberia. This thrilling, emotional, and unexpected adventure challenges everything she thought she knew. First released in 2002, Syberia became a benchmark in the adventure genre, celebrated for its distinctive atmosphere, sharp writing, and the richness of Benoît Sokal’s artistic vision. This remastered edition provides a fresh opportunity to (re)experience this masterpiece, alongside other works by Sokal such as Syberia: The World Before and the remake of Amerzone: The Explorer’s Legacy.

Meet the iconic characters of Syberia in fully redesigned forms and explore its most emblematic locations brought to life in beautifully enhanced 3D. Each environment has been rebuilt with great care, preserving Benoît Sokal’s unique art direction to offer an even deeper immersion into this visual universe. Enjoy a reimagined take on the game’s intricate puzzles, redesigned for smoother and more intuitive gameplay, while maintaining their central role in uncovering the secrets of Voralberg’s brilliance. Rediscover Kate Walker’s journey with a refreshed user interface, enhanced 3D navigation, and controls that meet modern standards — all without compromising the game’s contemplative and narrative soul.

From the alpine town of Valadilène to the icy reaches of eastern Russia, Syberia draws players into a world of mystery, automatons, and poetic machinery. Immerse yourself in a clockpunk adventure where realism and dreamlike wonder blend seamlessly. Experience a deeply human tale as Kate Walker’s legal mission becomes a transformative voyage of self-discovery. With unexpected encounters, emotional choices, and moments of awe, Syberia blurs the line between the strange and the sublime.

Syberia Remastered will be released on November 6 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, and on November 13 for Meta Quest 3, courtesy of Virtuallyz Gaming.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
