Leon S. Kennedy isn’t the only character rumored to return in Resident Evil 9. Someone else has also been mentioned.
The new installment of Resident Evil has already stirred up the gaming community, and fans can’t wait to find out which familiar characters will return in the next chapter. Speculation and leaked information continue to circulate, and debates about the possible return of characters only add to the excitement surrounding Capcom’s highly anticipated survival horror franchise continuation. Leaks related to Resident Evil Requiem have sparked speculation that Claire Redfield may return to the series. Although this has not yet been officially confirmed, the possibility of her return has sparked heated debate among fans, especially since the leaked information has mainly highlighted Leon, Jill, and Grace’s central roles.
According to a Facebook post, Grace will receive support from several original characters, and she will face several bosses throughout the story, which will take approximately 20 hours to complete on the first playthrough. Claire Redfield, whom we first saw in Resident Evil 2, may be the other big returnee. Rumor has it that she, like Chris Redfield, will be playable for a short time (Chris had a similar cameo in Resident Evil: Village). There are even rumors that one of the bosses will have some of Wesker’s abilities. He was the main villain in the franchise until Resident Evil 5.
According to leaked information, Resident Evil 9 may feature a mysterious island linked to bioterrorism experiments. Rumors mention elements such as Eveline clones and Megamycete research. This storyline aligns with Claire’s current role at TerraSave, a humanitarian organization that fights bioterrorism. Therefore, her inclusion in the story would be logical. Claire has not been a main character in the series since Resident Evil: Revelations 2 in 2015. However, she has remained active in the franchise’s animated films and supplementary media.
Fans say that her humanitarian approach brings a unique balance to the increasingly militarized cast of characters, contrasting with figures like Chris and Jill. Perhaps we’ll learn more during the Tokyo Game Show.
