Helldivers 2: Much Better Xbox Sales than Gears of War Reloaded Got on PlayStation!

That August 26 “swap” favored Sony-related games: Helldivers 2 is taking off on Xbox Series.

On August 26, Helldivers 2 launched on Xbox Series while Gears of War Reloaded arrived on PlayStation 5. According to Alinea Analytics estimates, Arrowhead’s co-op shooter sold 926K copies on Xbox in its first six days, whereas the Gears of War remaster moved roughly 259K on PS5. Notably, Helldivers 2 even outpaced its own PS5 debut (~633K in six days).

Officially, Gears of War Reloaded has surpassed 1 million players; Alinea pegs it at around 1.3 million now, with about 1 million on Xbox (likely via Game Pass) and a tiny ~41K on PC. On PS5, its sales significantly lagged behind Forza Horizon 5, which sold nearly as many copies in the same period.

August snapshot (Alinea): Peak led the month with 4M downloads, closely followed by Delta Force at 3.7M (thanks to its console/Steam rollout), with Grounded 2 third at 2.2M. Among premium games, Mafia: The Old Country has sold 1.2M+ (about half on PS5), while Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater sits at ~500K (as Konami separately touted a day-one 1M milestone in shipments + digital).

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
