Hades II: Supergiant Games Unexpectedly Announced When It Will Be Released! [VIDEO]

During Nintendo Direct, Supergiant Games delivered a huge surprise about Hades II, revealing the date when the game will leave early access.

This first-ever sequel from Supergiant builds on the best aspects of the original roguelike dungeon crawler, which offered players a god-like experience. Hades II brings an entirely new, action-packed, endlessly replayable adventure rooted in Greek mythology’s Underworld and its ties to the dawn of witchcraft. As the immortal Princess of the Underworld, you will explore a broader, deeper mythical world and confront the forces of the Titan of Time with Olympus at your side. The story unfolds dynamically with every triumph and setback.

You can charge your legendary Night weapons with ancient magic, and grow stronger with powerful boons from over a dozen Olympian gods, including Apollo and Zeus. The game offers nearly limitless ways to build your abilities. Players will encounter dozens of fully voiced, larger-than-life characters, featuring both new and returning faces. Through new interactions, you’ll strengthen bonds and experience unique story events depending on your path.

Expect fresh locations, challenges, upgrade systems, and surprises as you descend repeatedly into the ever-changing Underworld. Discover the secrets of the Arcana Altar, tame magical familiars, and gather reagents with the Tools of the Unseen. With permanent upgrades and the return of God Mode, you don’t need to be a god to enjoy the journey—though if you are, you’ll face increasingly difficult trials for bigger rewards. Supergiant’s hallmark remains intact: a rich, atmospheric presentation blending hand-painted environments, smoother 3D characters, and an evocative original score that brings this mythic world to life.

The surprise announcement confirmed that Hades II, which has been in early access since May 6 of last year, will officially launch on September 26. It will arrive simultaneously on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.
