Huawei Watch GT6 Pro – A Marathon Runner’s Dream

TECH REVIEW – Huawei positions its latest Watch GT6 Pro as a serious contender against the Apple Watch Series 11: a versatile smartwatch promising in-depth health and fitness tracking while delivering exceptional battery endurance. All this comes wrapped in a premium design package.

The Huawei Watch GT6 Pro is the newest member of the Watch GT family, inspired by Gran Turismo cars. That concept first appeared in the auto industry of the 1960s, when GT vehicles were built for speed and long-distance performance, blending power with luxury.

Huawei has carried this philosophy into its GT series watches, which over the years have become known for premium materials, stylish looks, and—much like grand touring itself—remarkable battery life.

The Watch GT6 Pro takes things a step further with its high-silicon battery. This is a variant of silicon-carbon technology that we’ve increasingly seen adopted by brands like Honor and OnePlus. Thanks to this approach, the watch can last up to 21 days on a single charge.

The watch also brings several other upgrades: an improved Sunflower positioning system, cycling-focused outdoor features, the new TruSense health monitoring suite, a titanium alloy case, and a peak brightness of 3000 nits. Let’s dive in.

What’s New – The Redesigned Look

• 1.47-inch AMOLED display with 3000-nit brightness
• 10% slimmer bezels
• Sapphire glass
• TC4 titanium alloy case with reinforced coating
• New high-silicon 867 mAh battery
• Updated Sunflower positioning system
• Pro-grade outdoor cycling tracking
• Brand-new TruSense health monitoring

Huawei Watch GT6 Pro – Specs, Models, and Pricing

The Pro edition comes in just one version (separate from the standard GT6): a 46 mm model with Bluetooth connectivity only—no LTE or Wi-Fi. The Pro is available in three color variants.

Feature-wise, the Huawei Watch GT6 Pro includes everything we’ve come to expect from the GT line: ECG, arterial stiffness measurement, body temperature sensor, and HRV (heart rate variability). New additions include a cyclist-focused power meter and emotional wellbeing tracking.

The real standout is its 867 mAh battery, significantly larger than the Galaxy Watch Ultra (590 mAh) or the Apple Watch Ultra 2 (564 mAh). This is thanks to Huawei’s silicon battery technology, reminiscent of the silicon-carbon innovations we’ve seen from other manufacturers in recent years.

Huawei Watch GT6 Pro – Design, Dimensions, and Straps

In terms of style, the Huawei Watch GT6 Pro continues the company’s “Fashion Forward” design philosophy. Its octagonal case, crafted from titanium and coated with hardened metal, gives it a Cybertruck-like aura: futuristic, minimalist, and a bit intimidating.

The 1.47-inch AMOLED panel is framed by bezels that are 10% thinner, while the 24-hour markers on the rim make the display look even more expansive. Sapphire glass, rated 9 on the Mohs hardness scale, protects the screen from scratches.

On paper, the 3000-nit brightness figure seems extreme, but in practice the display is blazingly bright and perfectly legible even in direct sunlight. During testing we encountered zero visibility issues.

The ridged rotating crown remains, engraved with the Huawei logo and highlighted in red. A second, capsule-shaped button serves as a quick launcher for customizable functions—whether starting a workout or opening a specific app.

The back of the watch is ceramic, a hypoallergenic material that doesn’t react to sweat—ideal for a wearable. All sensors are positioned in the center.

At 46 mm, the size works for most wrists: not the smallest watch, but neither oversized nor clunky. It measures about 11 mm thick and weighs roughly 50 grams, perfectly average for its class.

Retail packaging is modest: inside the box you’ll find the watch, a wireless charger, and documentation. No extra straps or accessories are included.

Workout Features

The Huawei Watch GT6 Pro truly shines in health and fitness tracking. It supports over 100 activity types, delivering detailed stats, including some rarely seen in mainstream wearables.

Runners can follow training plans and guided courses for marathons, half-marathons, or simply personal bests. Beyond VO2Max, HRV, and average heart rate, you also get advanced data such as vertical oscillation, stride length, average ground contact time, and balance.

A standout upgrade is the Pro-level cycling mode, making the GT6 Pro the first watch to feature a virtual power metric. Huawei fine-tuned its algorithms by analyzing more than 1,000 datasets covering bike types, rider height and weight, and wind speed.

You can import routes, upload maps, and even turn your phone into a cycling computer. The Auto-detect feature works reliably, pausing your workout at red lights and resuming when you’re pedaling again. Coupled with accurate GPS, this makes outdoor training truly seamless.

Sleep Tracking

Health tracking is powered by Huawei’s TruSense technology, now enhanced for even more accurate sleep monitoring. The watch detects different sleep stages based on heart rate, blood oxygen, and nighttime movement.

Each morning you receive an aggregated sleep score, along with suggestions for improvement. The new HRV tracking combined with SpO2 readings can detect irregular breathing patterns and potential sleep apnea.

Like all wearables, sleep tracking relies on algorithms—it’s not medical-grade REM detection. Still, our testing showed a clear correlation between higher REM readings and more vivid dreaming.

Health Features

The Huawei Watch GT6 Pro delivers a full suite of health tracking tools. It monitors heart rate, records ECGs (exportable as PDFs for your doctor), and measures arterial stiffness—a marker linked to stroke and cardiovascular risk.

Its SpO2 sensor can be used for on-demand checks or continuous monitoring. Emotional wellbeing metrics are also included, reflecting stress and mood states based on your physical data.

While these stats can be subjective—caffeine and alcohol, for example, may skew results—they can help you spot daily stress patterns and connect them to specific events.

Battery and Charging

One of the GT6 Pro’s strongest assets is its new high-silicon 867 mAh battery. Huawei watches have always been praised for long endurance, but this model raises the bar.

The company claims up to 21 days with lighter use, and a realistic 12 days with regular activity. In our week-long test—tracking sleep nightly, one GPS workout daily, calls routed through the watch, max frequency health monitoring, and the always-on display—it still had 47% battery left after five days. Hitting 10 days per charge is easy.

The wireless charger replenishes the battery from 0 to 100% in about an hour and a half.

Calls and Haptics

The Watch GT6 Pro has a built-in speaker and microphone for calls, music, timers, and alarms. Call quality was excellent throughout our week of testing—voices were clear on both ends, and the speaker volume was strong enough to avoid missed calls or alerts.

Haptic feedback is precise and powerful. You can choose between strong, soft, or disabled vibration modes.

Competitors

The Huawei Watch GT6 Pro stands toe-to-toe with Garmin sports watches, thanks to its wealth of training modes and advanced health monitoring. How does it compare to the Galaxy Watch 7 and Apple Watch 11?

Samsung’s models offer body composition analysis, something Huawei’s watches can’t yet match. The Apple Watch 11 adds hypertension detection. Huawei’s own Watch D can measure blood pressure, but that hasn’t been brought into the GT line.

There’s one area, though, where the GT6 Pro leaves rivals behind: battery life. While some come close, none provide such endurance alongside style and features in one package.

Should You Buy It?

The Huawei Watch GT6 Pro is priced at around 329 pounds ($449)—slightly higher than the entry-level Galaxy Watch 7 or Apple Watch 11, but less than their Ultra versions.

With a titanium case, sapphire glass, and a host of sports-oriented features (especially for runners, cyclists, and golfers), it’s an appealing package. The app ecosystem is still limited, but all core smart functions are in place.

Battery life, however, is outstanding—the watch keeps going for days without worry. That alone helps the GT6 Pro stand out in the crowded wearable market.

If you want a tough, stylish, and long-lasting sports smartwatch with serious tracking chops, the Huawei Watch GT6 Pro is an easy recommendation.
