Dying Light: The Beast: 1 Million Sales on Steam!

Apart from Dying Light 2: Stay Human, quite a few people have purchased Techland’s game on Valve’s digital platform.

According to the latest newsletter from Alinea Analytics, Dying Light: The Beast has sold over a million copies on Steam. Considering all platforms, the total sales could reach as high as 1.5 million. Techland previously boasted that it had received one million pre-orders before the game’s release. However, this number included users of the Dying Light 2 Ultimate Edition, as Dying Light: The Beast launched as the second DLC for Dying Light 2, and Ultimate Edition users are still eligible for it, as the studio originally promised. Rhys Elliott, an Alinea Analytics analyst, revealed that the game sold one million new copies on Valve‘s platform. Eighty-two percent of players had played the original Dying Light, and 77% had played the sequel, so loyal fans returned, especially in the early stages.

Dying Light: The Beast topped Steam’s weekly sales charts, though other major games released earlier this month also performed well. Borderlands 4 added 337,000 copies to its previous total of two million. Hollow Knight: Silksong has sold an additional 255,000 copies, bringing its total to five million. Other indie games, such as Peak and Shape of Dreams, also performed well. Trioskaz‘s recently released first-person horror visual novel, No, I’m Not Human, sold over 200,000 copies in its debut week. Keepsake‘s sci-fi cooperative space adventure game, Jump Space, performed well in its Early Access release week, surpassing EA Sports FC 26 on Steam.

Another game that performed well last week was Hades. Thanks to a 75% discount, it sold over 150,000 copies, surpassing nine million total copies sold. Supergiant‘s timing was perfect, as the discount happened before the release of Hades 2 version 1.0. According to Alinea Analytics, Hades will be Steam’s next big hit. The game has already sold over two million copies during early access, so it has the potential to attract around two million active daily users upon release.

Alinea Analytics estimates that Palworld has sold over 25 million copies across all platforms. We recently reported that a Palworld: Palfarm spin-off is in the works, as well as a collaboration with Ultrakill.
