Kingdom Come: Deliverance: Will Henry’s First Adventure Get a Remaster?

Although Warhorse Studios’ game received a sequel this year and Dan Vávra’s project has already been expanded with a major DLC, the Czech team may revisit the original game.

According to online rumors, a remastered or enhanced version of Kingdom Come: Deliverance is expected to launch in early 2026. The rumor comes from bertik11 on Reddit, who revealed that the first installment of Warhorse Studios’ series will receive a new version between January and April next year. The user added that the studio is not working on a new Lord of the Rings game, as some rumors claim, but is instead continuing to focus on its own fantasy IP.

Although unverified rumors should be treated with caution, bertik11 has proven reliable when it comes to leaks related to the Kingdom Come: Deliverance franchise. Last year, they were the first to reveal that Kingdom Come: Deliverance II had been delayed to 2025, well before the official announcement. They also leaked that the game’s 2024 Gamescom booth would feature a medieval village design, which turned out to be accurate. This suggests that bertik11 may indeed have access to insider information from the studio.

While Kingdom Come: Deliverance was a solid RPG upon its 2018 release, a remaster could significantly enhance the experience by addressing its most critical flaws. Improving the gameplay would make the title far more accessible, reducing the steep learning curve and refining the interface — allowing players who only tried the acclaimed sequel to experience the beginnings of Henry of Skalitz’s story for themselves.

It’s also worth noting that the game’s optimization leaves much to be desired, as performance can drop to as low as 29 FPS at 4K resolution even on an RTX 4090 + i9-14900K setup — far from weak hardware. Moreover, we’re talking about a game that’s now more than seven years old. The only question that remains is whether Warhorse is truly working on this project, as it is still just a rumor for now.
