Battlefield 6’s Massive Success Didn’t Shake Its Rival — Delta Force Still Standing Despite Hacker Chaos

Even with over 700,000 players on Steam alone, EA’s latest shooter hasn’t put its competition to sleep. Team Jade’s Delta Force remains surprisingly strong — though hackers are dragging its reputation down fast.

While Battlefield 6 has exploded in popularity with more than 700,000 concurrent players on Steam — not counting consoles or EA Play — its supposed rival, Delta Force, continues to hold its ground. Despite clearly borrowing ideas from EA’s franchise, the Asian-developed shooter hasn’t been crushed under the weight of Battlefield’s comeback.

The new Delta Force reimagines the classic series as a modern, team-based FPS offering three main modes: massive warfare, extraction missions, and a reworked Black Hawk Down campaign inspired by Ridley Scott’s film. Being a free-to-play title has helped it maintain a steady player base, attracting those who want large-scale combat without a paywall.

Current figures confirm its resilience: Delta Force averages around 100,000 concurrent players, peaking above 200,000 daily on Steam alone. Smartly, Team Jade launched a major update last September — just before Battlefield 6 — adding new operators, weapons, and events to keep engagement high.

Battlefield 6 May Have Accidentally Boosted Delta Force

According to Esports Insider, the buzz around Battlefield 6 may have actually driven more attention toward Delta Force, as players searched for a free alternative offering a similar wartime thrill. But maintaining that momentum won’t be easy. Despite steady stats, Team Jade faces persistent hacker issues and unstable servers.

Where Delta Force has truly fallen behind is in player reviews — only 35 % of recent ratings on Steam are positive. The ongoing cheating crisis has worsened rather than improved, and no short-term fix seems to be in sight. For now, the game survives, but its reputation hangs by a thread.
