Anno 117: Pax Romana – How Will It Expand in the Year After Its Release? [VIDEO]

Ubisoft has revealed in detail how it plans to expand the latest entry in the Anno franchise after launch — and yes, even Rome will have its own season pass.

The French publisher has released a new gameplay deep dive video for Anno 117: Pax Romana, highlighting not only the focus of the campaign but also the full contents of the Year 1 Content Pass. In the story-driven campaign, players will step into the role of Marcus or Marcia, two newly appointed Roman governors tasked with shaping the Celtic regions under their control. Players will decide whether to enforce the traditions of Rome or find a way to merge Roman and Celtic cultures. The campaign’s tone and progression will differ depending on which character the player chooses — Marcus’s path leads one way, while Marcia’s takes another.

After launch, Pax Romana will receive three major DLC expansions as part of its first-year roadmap. The first, titled Provinces of Ash, introduces Latium — a large island region featuring new cultural encounters and the looming threat of a massive volcano. The second DLC, The Hippodrome, adds a grand stadium arena where players can host thrilling chariot races and other public spectacles for their citizens. The third expansion, Dawn of the Delta, takes players to a new riverside province that introduces an additional culture, as the Roman Empire expands toward the Egyptian frontier.

Ubisoft has not yet shared an official release schedule for the DLCs, but given that they are all expected within the game’s first year, it’s safe to assume they’ll arrive in fairly wide intervals — likely every three to four months. Judging by the descriptions, these will be substantial expansions rather than small content drops. Anno 117: Pax Romana is set to release on November 13 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
