Soon, Super Meat Boy will be available on PlayStation platforms (there is a reason we used a plural there!), which will be slightly different compared to the Xbox 360/PC originals. It’s going to be noticable with our ears, as the soundtrack will be completely replaced in the Sony versions…
Danny Baranowsky’s original score won’t be heard in the PlayStation 4 / PlayStation Vita ports – which will be available from October 6 free for PlayStation Plus members -, because Team Meat wasn’t able to achieve the rights for using it. This was announced by the designer of the game, Tommy Refenes. However, he added that now the team was able to re-score the game with their favourite artists: Matthias Bossi and Jon Evans (The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth), David Scatliffe (Hotline Miami) and Laura Shigihara (Plants vs. Zombies).
Baranowsky didn’t give Team Meat the rights, because he says PlayStation Network would not have given him enough fee and exposure.
