Microsoft Slips Up – Silent Hill 2 Remake on Xbox Gets a Date Before It’s Even Announced

It was not even official, yet a Microsoft mistake appears to have revealed the Xbox Series X|S release date. Silent Hill 2 Remake finally has an Xbox window, and the leak seems to have come straight from Redmond.

It has been more than a year since Silent Hill 2 Remake launched on PlayStation 5 and PC. On those platforms, Bloober Team’s survival horror has surpassed 2.5 million copies, and Konami’s ambitions extend further – the game is now headed to Microsoft’s consoles. While a formal announcement and big showcase are still pending, the Xbox Series X|S edition already appears to have a firm date.

The Xbox Date Is Set for Silent Hill 2 Remake

According to Windows Central, the Microsoft Store accidentally posted the release day. After ratings activity for Xbox Series X|S a few days ago, the listing now points to November 21, 2025, for both Xbox consoles. A Deluxe Edition is mentioned, including a digital art book and soundtrack. The entry surfaced across console and PC storefronts, though the Xbox Play Anywhere tag is not present yet – it could be added later.

The Xbox’s arrival was a matter of time after more than a year of PlayStation console exclusivity, though Windows Central notes Bloober Team had to resolve a technical snag related to the engine and Lumen lighting. Some questions linger – many players still wonder whether the classic Maria expansion from the original Silent Hill 2 will ever materialize.

Fans speculate that this DLC could be announced and launched just ahead of the Silent Hill 2 movie hitting theaters in early 2026. It bears repeating that Silent Hill 2 Remake has not been officially announced for Xbox Series X|S, so a presentation or a possible Xbox Partner Preview in the coming days would be a logical venue for publishers to confirm titles coming to Xbox, Game Pass, or the Microsoft Store.
