Aliens Fireteam Elite 2: The Game Will Be Delayed by a Significant Amount!

The press release doesn’t mention the game by name, but the description makes it clear what publisher Enad Global 7 had in mind.

In July 2024, a leaked presentation essentially confirmed the existence of Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, the sequel to the 2021 cooperative third-person shooter released by Cold Iron Studios. The presentation revealed several details about the game. For example, five character types will be available: Swift, Deadly, Silent, Commander, and Ranger. Each type has unique weapons and abilities. There will also be an Annihilation mode inspired by classic horde modes with multiple encounters and objectives.

The studio stated that their goal is to release the game in 2025, though this has not yet been confirmed. Yesterday, Enad Global 7 (the publisher of the first game) announced it would invest an additional $6.5 million in Cold Iron Studios’ next game, officially scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2026 (i.e., between July and September). Cold Iron is investing an additional $1.2 million of its own money into the project.

The press release does not mention Aliens Fireteam Elite 2 by name. However, based on the previous leak and the developer, it is reasonable to assume that this upcoming title will also be a cooperative action shooter based on a major movie IP franchise. They will probably wait until the 2026 Summer Game Fest to officially unveil the game in June.

By then, it is expected that the game will not be released for the previous console generation because we are talking about consoles from 2013. The Nintendo Switch was released in 2017, so perhaps the target platforms will be the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. But this is still just speculation.
