The new video from King Art Games and Deep Silver highlights several new features and promises surprises.
The trailer opens with a look at how the Blood Ravens, led by Captain Cyrus and Chief Librarian Jonah Orion, arrive in orbit over Kronus at the beginning of the game. Following an intense orbital battle with Warboss Gorgutz and his Orks, the two factions find themselves on the planet’s surface, where Guzcutta—the second Ork commander—is already waiting. Meanwhile, on Kronus, Technoarcheologist Potentia Delta-9 searches for lost knowledge, while the Chronomancer Thothmek begins the Necrons’ invasion by awakening Kronus’s dormant tombs in search of secrets. The Imperium’s forces are beset on all sides. Their last stand is losing strength, and the lines are on the verge of collapse. At the last moment, however, it becomes clear that they are not alone. The Dark Angels have arrived.
For the first time in Dawn of War history, players can play as two Space Marine factions: the Blood Ravens and the Dark Angels. The Dark Angels are fully playable in all game modes. During the Space Marines campaign, players undertake missions commanding both the Blood Ravens and the Dark Angels and can choose which missions to play. The Dark Angels have their own playable commanders for the Space Marines campaign: Company Master Astorane and Chaplain Ezrael. The Dark Angels have their own unique identity and history.
As Space Marines, they share core strategies, tactics, wargear, and weaponry while maintaining the distinctive character and abilities of their Chapter. The Blood Ravens are often engaged in smaller conflicts that require tactical finesse and sometimes involve stealth, while the Dark Angels deploy their full might on the biggest battlefields. As the story reaches its climax, Lion El’Jonson himself appears on the battlefield. For the first time ever, players have the chance to experience the legendary power of a Space Marine Primarch in an unforgettable finale. Kronus is a world in ruins, and the future is uncertain, but one thing is certain: War has returned to Kronus.
