One Month After Its Xbox Reveal, MUDANG’s Studio Has All but Disappeared

After a confident debut, ambitious plans, and a promised 2026 release window, everything unraveled in just thirty days. EVR Studio, the developer behind MUDANG: Two Hearts, has gone silent, and its official website has vanished.

In recent years, the global games industry has increasingly turned its attention toward China and South Korea. Projects like Black Myth: Wukong and Stellar Blade have highlighted the region’s growing influence. Against this backdrop, MUDANG: Two Hearts was unveiled during the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2025.

The game immediately stood out thanks to its cinematic presentation, strong visual identity, and confident framing as a new IP. Developed in South Korea, it combined stealth mechanics with tactical action, and while it was not positioned as a blockbuster, many believed it could firmly establish EVR Studio’s name.

Following the reveal, several developer diaries appeared on YouTube, suggesting that production was progressing steadily. At the time, the studio maintained that MUDANG: Two Hearts was on track for a 2026 release.

That optimism faded quickly. The last official update arrived in August 2025, after which communication stopped entirely. While silence alone is not uncommon, reports of internal trouble soon began to surface.

Mass Layoffs and a Vanishing Studio

According to THE VC, South Korea’s leading startup and venture capital database, EVR Studio laid off roughly 75 percent of its workforce just one month after the game’s announcement. The remaining team reportedly numbered only 22 people, an alarming figure for a project of this scope.

Further raising concerns, EVR Studio’s official website has since disappeared. Current information suggests that only the two co-CEOs may still be associated with the company, though this has not been officially confirmed.

The studio has issued no statement regarding the status of the game or its own future. Sources cited by Need4Games claim that investors expected the game to be released by the end of March 2026, and missing that deadline may have triggered severe internal tensions, ultimately leading to the studio’s collapse.

For now, the fate of MUDANG: Two Hearts remains uncertain. What once looked like one of the most intriguing Korean projects on the horizon now stands on the brink of disappearance.
